“Stellantis Recalls 1.3M Jeeps for Fire Risk”

Stellantis announced a global recall of over 1.3 million Jeep SUVs and trucks due to fire risk concerns. Owners are advised to park these vehicles away from structures or other vehicles until the necessary repairs are made. The recall affects Jeep Wrangler and Jeep Gladiator trucks from the model years 2021 to 2025. The issue stems from a potential electrical connection problem in the electric hydraulic power steering pump wiring, which could, under rare circumstances, cause combustible materials to overheat, posing a fire hazard.

The recall spans approximately 1.08 million vehicles in the United States, 106,000 in Canada, 23,000 in Mexico, and around 125,000 in other global markets. Stellantis will conduct inspections and may repair or replace the wiring harness or electric hydraulic power steering pump as needed. The company is striving to expedite the availability of remedies and aims to complete the recall by July at the latest.

Although there has been one reported injury associated with the issue, Stellantis confirmed no accidents or fatalities have occurred due to this problem.
