Chloe Fineman, a cast member of the popular TV show “Saturday Night Live,” has announced her departure from the show after seven seasons. The announcement was made via her Instagram account, just ahead of the upcoming 52nd season scheduled for this fall.
Fineman’s exit comes after a significant “shakeup” in the 50th season back in 2025, which saw the departure of several other comedians, including Heidi Gardner, Michael Longfellow, Devon Walker, Ego Nwodim, and Emil Wakim. They were replaced for the 51st season by Tommy Brennan, Jeremy Culhane, Kam Patterson, Ben Marshall from “Please Don’t Destroy,” and Canadian performer Veronika Slowikowska.
The 51st season saw no major cast departures until the finale earlier this year when Bowen Yang left midway through the season in December 2025. Fineman expressed mixed emotions about leaving SNL in her Instagram post, stating, “It’s really hard to leave SNL but it does feel like the right time. I’m going to miss it a lot. But the people who work there are my family, and that place is my home, and I know I’ll never be too far away.”
Fineman joined the show in 2019 alongside Bowen Yang and Shane Gillis, who had a short-lived tenure on the show. The show has seen a trend towards longer-serving cast members over the years. In the current cast, there are six members who have been on the show for six or more seasons.
Besides Fineman, other long-serving cast members include Kenan Thompson with a record-breaking 23 seasons, Colin Jost with 13 seasons, Michael Che with 12 seasons, Mikey Day with 10 seasons, and Andrew Dismukes with six seasons. With the departure of Gardner and Nwodim, Fineman became the longest-serving female cast member on SNL.
The departure of some cast members seemed to have been unexpected, with Walker, Wakim, and Longfellow implying that their exits may not have been entirely voluntary. Walker compared entertainment work to marriages, Longfellow expressed disappointment about not returning for another season, and Wakim shared his feelings about learning he would not be returning to the show.
During her time on SNL, Fineman became known for her impressive impersonations of various personalities, including Melania Trump, Timothée Chalamet, Britney Spears, and Drew Barrymore. She also gained popularity through her social media videos impersonating the Australian Olympic breakdancer Raygun.
Aside from her comedic talents, Fineman has established herself as an actor, appearing in movies such as “White Noise” and “Megalopolis” alongside Adam Driver, as well as in “Despicable Me 4” and “Freakier Friday.” She is set to star in upcoming projects like “Love Language” with Chloë Grace Moretz and “The Dink” alongside Jake Johnson, Ben Stiller, Mary Steenburgen, and Ed Harris.
