Prince George celebrated his 13th birthday on Wednesday, and to mark the occasion, Kensington Palace unveiled a fresh photo of the young royal. The image, shared on X, captures Prince George, son of Prince William and Catherine, Princess of Wales, in a relaxed pose sporting a dark suit paired with an open-collar white shirt, hands casually tucked in his pockets. Noted photographer Matt Porteous snapped the picture during the Trooping the Colour ceremony last month.
As the grandson of King Charles, Prince George holds the second spot in line for the throne following his father. Growing into his role, he has embraced more public duties, such as assisting his father in serving lunch at a London homeless shelter last December. Come September, Prince George is set to commence his education at the prestigious Eton College, following in his father’s footsteps.
The eldest of three siblings, Prince George is followed by his 11-year-old sister, Princess Charlotte, and 8-year-old brother, Prince Louis. Kensington Palace expressed gratitude for the birthday wishes extended to Prince George, sharing a video on social media depicting him engaging in outdoor activities like hiking, boating, and playing cricket on the beach.
