“Ceasefire Progress: Israel, Hamas Exchange Captives”

In the past ten days, Israel and Hamas have upheld a ceasefire agreement, leading to the repatriation of captives and detainees to various regions like Israel, Gaza, and the West Bank. Aid shipments have also been sent to alleviate the dire conditions in Gaza since the agreement was finalized.

Despite the ceasefire, there have been instances of instability, with Israel launching airstrikes in the southern Gaza region in response to alleged attacks on IDF troops by Hamas militants in Rafah. Hamas has refuted these claims.

To gain insight into the events that set the stage for these incidents, we spoke with William Christou, an independent journalist stationed in Jerusalem and affiliated with The Guardian.
