Actor Josh Hartnett was involved in a car accident in St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador. The incident occurred on September 25 when a Royal Newfoundland Constabulary patrol vehicle collided with the SUV in which Hartnett was a passenger. The actor, who was in the city filming a Netflix show, was on his way home from the set when the collision happened.
The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary released a statement confirming the collision, which took place at the intersection of New Cove Road and Elizabeth Avenue around 1 a.m. Both Hartnett and a 59-year-old man who was also in the vehicle with him sustained minor injuries and were taken to the hospital. The police officer involved in the crash was also hospitalized as a precautionary measure.
Authorities are now seeking witnesses and any available footage of the accident to aid in their investigation. Hartnett is currently working on a Netflix series titled “Untitled Netflix Newfoundland Series,” where he plays a role as a fisherman defending his community from a sea creature that threatens a remote town. The show features actors such as Charlie Heaton from “Stranger Things” and Mackenzie Davis from “Speak No Evil.”
