Alberta Teachers’ Association Members Reject Province’s Agreement

Members of the Alberta Teachers’ Association have declined a proposed agreement with the province. The union, representing 51,000 teachers from various educational sectors, conducted a vote where 89.5% of the 43,362 votes opposed the agreement, while 10.5% supported it. The ATA has indicated that teachers are prepared to initiate a strike on October 6 if a resolution is not achieved by that deadline. Stay tuned for more updates.
