Bad Bunny made history by becoming the first Latin artist to win the album of the year at the 68th annual Grammy Awards with his album “DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS.” The Puerto Rican singer outshined other top contenders like Kendrick Lamar, Justin Bieber, Sabrina Carpenter, Clipse, Pusha T & Malice, Lady Gaga, Leon Thomas, and Tyler, the Creator. Kendrick Lamar also had a successful night, taking home five awards, including record of the year for his collaboration with SZA on the track “luther.”
Kendrick Lamar now holds the record for the most Grammy wins by a rapper, surpassing Jay-Z with a total of 27 wins. Lady Gaga’s album “Mayhem” and her single “Abracadabra” also had a triumphant night, winning four Grammys in categories like best pop vocal album and best dance pop recording.
Billie Eilish clinched the song of the year award for the third time for “WILDFLOWER,” which she co-wrote with her brother Finneas. Olivia Dean was crowned as the best new artist, while Joni Mitchell won best historical album for her compilation “Joni Mitchell Archives, Volume 4: The Asylum Years — 1976-1980.”
Other notable winners included Lola Young for best solo pop performance with “Messy,” Turnstile for best rock album with “NEVER ENOUGH,” and Kendrick Lamar for best rap album with “GNX.” Lady Gaga’s producer, Cirkut, also had a successful night, winning two awards, including producer of the year, non-classical.
