Dolly Parton Delays Vegas Residency for Health Reasons

Dolly Parton has decided to delay her upcoming Las Vegas residency, marking her return after 32 years, due to health concerns. The renowned country singer made the announcement on social media, explaining that her doctors have advised her to undergo some procedures. Parton humorously referred to it as her “100,000-mile checkup,” emphasizing the need to prioritize her health over the scheduled performances.

The shows, originally set to take place at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace between December 4 and 13 as part of Dolly: Live in Las Vegas, have now been rescheduled for September 2026. Parton expressed her regret at not being able to deliver the quality performance her fans deserve and assured ticket holders that their tickets would be honored for the new dates, with refunds available if needed.

While Parton occasionally performs, she has not embarked on a tour since 2016. Despite this, she remains active in her career, with a new book titled Star of the Show: My Life on Stage set to be released on November 11. Additionally, a Broadway musical based on her life story is slated to debut in 2026.

Earlier this year, Parton faced health challenges that prevented her from attending an event at her Dollywood theme park in Tennessee. She revealed that a kidney stone had caused complications, resulting in an infection that required medical attention. Furthermore, the passing of her husband, Carl Dean, earlier in the year added to the difficulties she has encountered in recent times. Dean, who was married to Parton for nearly six decades and famously inspired her hit song “Jolene,” passed away at the age of 82.

Despite these setbacks, Parton remains optimistic about her future endeavors and assured fans that she is not retiring from the music industry. She emphasized the importance of taking a break to focus on her health so that she can continue to embark on new adventures with her supporters.
