Los Angeles law enforcement apprehended a woman for reportedly firing gunshots near the residence of renowned Grammy-Award winning singer Rihanna, as confirmed by police sources and media reports. Fortunately, nobody sustained injuries during the incident, and it remains uncertain if the celebrity was present at the property when the shooting occurred on a Sunday afternoon.
Authorities received reports of gunfire near a domicile in the Beverly Hills vicinity, as stated by spokesperson Officer Charles Miller on Monday. Subsequently, a 35-year-old female suspect was peacefully apprehended, and law enforcement successfully retrieved a firearm following the incident. The individual has been detained under suspicion of attempted murder, with bail set at $10 million US, pending formal charges from the district attorney’s office.
While Officer Miller refrained from disclosing the homeowner’s identity, several local news sources identified the property as belonging to Rihanna. Property records indicate ownership by a trust overseen by Evan Jehle, a member of Rihanna’s Clara Lionel Foundation advisory board.
Efforts to obtain comments from Rihanna’s publicist and manager were made, with no responses received at the time of reporting. Visual evidence from KABC-TV displayed what appeared to be five bullet holes in the residence’s front gate, indicating the severity of the incident.
An audio recording obtained by KABC revealed a police dispatcher alerting officers to the gunfire, attributing the shots to a vehicle across the street. The potential connection, if any, between the detained woman and Rihanna remained unclear.
This incident echoes a prior security breach in 2018 when an individual unlawfully entered another one of Rihanna’s properties in Hollywood Hills, spending 12 hours inside. Following legal proceedings, the trespasser pleaded no contest to charges of stalking, vandalism, and resisting arrest, ultimately receiving a probationary sentence in 2019.
Rihanna, a distinguished nine-time Grammy Award recipient, boasts 14 chart-topping singles on the Billboard Hot 100, including hits like “We Found Love,” “Work,” “Umbrella,” and “Disturbia.” Additionally, she established the successful cosmetics brand Fenty Beauty in 2017.
In recent news, Rihanna and A$AP Rocky celebrated the birth of their third child, a daughter named Rocki Irish Mayers, in September.
The investigation remains ongoing, with authorities working to ascertain further details surrounding the incident near Rihanna’s residence.
