Josh Hartnett in Car Crash During Netflix Show Filming

Actor Josh Hartnett was recently involved in a car accident in St. John’s, N.L. on September 25. He was a passenger in an SUV that collided with a Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) patrol vehicle. The incident occurred while the actor was in the city filming a show for Netflix.

According to a source familiar with the production, Hartnett was on his way home from the set when the vehicle he was traveling in was struck. The RNC released a statement on September 25 confirming the collision involving one of its patrol cars at the intersection of New Cove Road and Elizabeth Avenue around 1 a.m.

Both Hartnett and a 59-year-old man who was also in the car were taken to the hospital with what the police believed to be minor injuries. Additionally, the male police officer involved in the crash was also hospitalized as a precautionary measure.

The RNC is now seeking witnesses or any footage of the collision to aid in their investigation. Hartnett is currently part of a production tentatively titled “Untitled Netflix Newfoundland Series,” where he plays a role in a story about a fisherman defending his community from a sea creature that threatens a remote town. The series features Hartnett alongside Charlie Heaton from “Stranger Things” and Mackenzie Davis from “Speak No Evil.”
