Bestselling author Sarah J. Maas has revealed the release dates for two new books in her popular series, A Court of Thorns and Roses (ACOTAR), after a five-year wait. During an interview on Alex Cooper’s Call Her Daddy podcast, Maas shared that the follow-up to 2021’s A Court of Silver Flames will be available on Oct. 27, with a seventh book scheduled for release on Jan. 12, 2027.
Maas described the upcoming story as significant and emphasized that it will be a multipart narrative spanning three books. She intends for the series to be read as one cohesive tale rather than a traditional trilogy.
Renowned for her Crescent City and Throne of Glass series, Maas has amassed a global readership of over 75 million books in 40 languages. Her influence on the romantasy genre, particularly seen through the rise of BookTok during the pandemic, has solidified her position in the literary world.
Bloomsbury, Maas’s publisher, experienced a surge in shares following the announcement, reflecting the anticipation from fans worldwide. Nigel Newton, Bloomsbury’s chief executive, expressed excitement over the unprecedented pace at which Maas is delivering new content, highlighting the exceptional demand for her work.
Acknowledging the long-awaited nature of the sixth ACOTAR book, Maas explained the challenges she faced in crafting the narrative. Despite not disclosing specific details about the upcoming books, she hinted at the complexity of the story and the need to split it into multiple installments.
Fans of the series, eagerly awaiting the continuation of the saga involving Feyre, Nesta, Elain, and the captivating characters of the Night Court, have expressed overwhelming joy and anticipation for the forthcoming releases. The community’s excitement was palpable across various social media platforms, with many fans lauding Maas for her prolific output compared to other notable authors in the genre.
