The Roughriders, established in 1910, have hosted the Grey Cup four times, with the most recent being in 2022. The 2027 game is scheduled for November 7, a week earlier than usual, and there are high expectations surrounding the Roughriders hosting the event in their home city.
The CFL Commissioner, Stewart Johnston, praised the bid package from the Saskatchewan Roughriders for the 2027 Grey Cup, commending the collaborative effort with the province, City of Regina, and local hotel operators. Johnston highlighted the exceptional quality of the bid and the support received, emphasizing the football culture in Saskatchewan.
Notably, the 2027 Grey Cup festival will be held entirely indoors for the first time, including the street festival, offering attendees a chance to enjoy the event without worrying about the weather.
