“Toronto Blue Jays Boast Five Gold Glove Award Nominees”

The Toronto Blue Jays have five players nominated for the prestigious Gold Glove awards this season, an annual recognition bestowed by Major League Baseball to honor the top defensive performers in every position across both leagues. Ernie Clement has been selected as a finalist in two categories – third base and utility – in the American League.

Joining Clement as contenders are Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and Ty France, the latter acquired by Toronto from Minnesota during the trade deadline, both vying for the AL’s first-base Gold Glove. Additionally, second baseman Andres Gimenez and catcher Alejandro Kirk have also secured spots as finalists.

Gimenez, a recipient of the AL Gold Glove at second base for the past three consecutive seasons while playing for the Cleveland Guardians, and Guerrero, who clinched the AL first-base award in 2022, are among the notable names in the running this year. The winners of the prestigious awards are scheduled to be revealed on November 2.
