“Turkey Foils ISIS Christmas Attack Plot, Arrests 115”

Turkish authorities have apprehended 115 suspected members affiliated with the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) who were allegedly plotting attacks during the Christmas and New Year festivities in Turkey, as announced by the Istanbul chief prosecutor’s office on Thursday. Istanbul police received intelligence indicating that ISIS operatives had devised plans to target non-Muslim individuals specifically, as revealed by the prosecutor’s office through a statement posted on X, previously known as Twitter. The police conducted raids at 124 locations in Istanbul, resulting in the arrest of 115 out of the 137 wanted suspects, according to the official statement. The seizure of several firearms and ammunition was also reported in the operation.
