Alannah Keyser, aged 21, has been ousted as the second participant from the ongoing season of Love Island USA following the emergence of a video online where she used a racial slur.
Keyser, a college student from Miami, made a grand entrance during the Casa Amor episodes of the reality dating series on Peacock. However, her stay was short-lived as a Snapchat video surfaced showing her singing along to a song that contained the N-word, believed to be from rapper Roddy Ricch’s track “The Box.”
In a customary fashion for the show, narrator Iain Stirling announced Keyser’s sudden departure during Thursday night’s episode, stating, “Alannah has left Casa Amor.”
After initially connecting with contestant Zach Georgiou, Keyser’s screen time noticeably diminished, with fans noticing her reduced presence in recent episodes.
This incident with Keyser is not isolated to this season, as demonstrated by past occurrences within the franchise. Prior to the show’s premiere, Vasana Montgomery was removed from Season 8 after videos of her using a racial slur resurfaced.
In a separate incident from the previous season, islanders Yulissa Escobar and Cierra Ortega were both removed for similar reasons shortly after the season began, with Escobar issuing an apology on Instagram for her actions.
The Love Island USA series has faced backlash online, prompting warnings from the production to cease cyberbullying aimed at the contestants and their families.
