Céline Dion has released a new single, marking a significant return to the music scene. The latest track, titled “Dansons,” is a soft and romantic French-language ballad that translates to “Let’s dance” in English. Accompanying the single is a music video filled with romantic scenes set in Paris, showcasing couples dancing freely in various locations.
This release comes ahead of Dion’s upcoming series of 16 shows at the Paris La Défense Arena from September 12 to October 17, confirming her highly anticipated comeback. Speculation about her return began circulating after mysterious signs featuring lyrics from her iconic songs, such as “My Heart Will Go On” and “The Power of Love,” appeared around Paris.
Written by renowned songwriter Jean-Jacques Goldman, “Dansons” is Dion’s first French-language release in over a decade and her first original song in years. Her previous release was in 2023 for the film “Love Again.” Dion and Goldman previously collaborated on projects such as Dion’s “Encore un soir” in 2016 and her 1995 album “D’eux,” which remains the best-selling French-language album of all time.
Dion’s return to the stage follows a hiatus due to health issues, including her battle with stiff person syndrome, a rare neurological disorder that affects her singing ability. Her Courage world tour was initially postponed in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic and later canceled in 2023. Dion made her public singing comeback in July 2024 with a performance at the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games in Paris and later at a fashion show in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, honoring designer Elie Saab’s 45-year career.
