Blue Jays Force Game 7 with Dominant Win

The Blue Jays dominated the Seattle Mariners in Game 6 of the American League Championship Series with strong batting and pitching, securing a 6-2 victory and setting up a pivotal Game 7. Toronto capitalized on defensive errors by the Mariners early in the game, taking an early lead through a run-scoring single by Addison Barger. The Jays extended their lead to 5-0, courtesy of home runs by Barger and Vladimir Guerrero Jr.

Barger continued his impressive performance with a two-run homer in the third inning, further boosting Toronto’s lead. Guerrero then added a solo shot in the fifth inning, making it 5-0. Rookie pitcher Trey Yesavage played a crucial role in keeping the Mariners scoreless through five innings, striking out seven batters.

Despite Seattle scoring two runs in the sixth inning, Toronto responded in the next inning, capitalizing on Mariners’ mistakes. Guerrero’s unconventional journey around the bases in the seventh inning, following a hit by pitch, ultimately led to another run for the Blue Jays.

Closer Jeff Hoffman sealed the victory for Toronto by striking out four Mariners in the later innings, leveling the series at 3-3. The decisive Game 7 is set to take place at 8:08 p.m. ET at Rogers Centre on Monday.

Both teams are gearing up for the final showdown, with the winner advancing to face the Los Angeles Dodgers in the World Series. Toronto looks to return to the Fall Classic for the first time since 1993, while Seattle aims to make history by reaching the World Series for the first time.
