“Strangers Unite to Fulfill Couple’s Dream Wedding”

Last week, Tim Bowman and Leah Fried found themselves unexpectedly getting married in Nelson, B.C. The couple had initially planned to tie the knot during their winter stay in British Columbia. Seeking guidance from their astrologer while house-sitting in Nelson, they were advised to get married the next day, on Tuesday, November 25, at 2:34 p.m.

Quickly springing into action, Bowman contacted officiants in Nelson, who eagerly agreed to help. They settled on Cottonwood Falls Park as the venue, a beautiful location featuring Japanese gardens and a waterfall. Despite not knowing anyone in town, the couple turned to a local Facebook group to find witnesses for their ceremony.

After the post was approved and went live, an outpouring of support followed. Within hours, offers to take photos, play music, and provide congratulations flooded in. On the wedding day, a group of strangers from the community, including witnesses, a photographer, an officiant, and a musician, gathered at Cottonwood Falls Park to assist the couple in making their dream wedding a reality.

The heartwarming display of community support deeply touched Fried and Bowman, who exchanged rings fashioned from willow branches during the ceremony. They expressed gratitude for the unexpected kindness shown by the Nelson community and looked forward to spending more time in the area in the future.

Reflecting on the whirlwind wedding, Bowman felt overwhelmed with joy and appreciation for the unpredictability of life. Fried described the experience as miraculously exquisite, thanking Nelson for embracing them. The couple also shared their story on Radio West, detailing how the community came together to orchestrate their impromptu wedding in Nelson.
